Welcome!

Welcome to the official website for the Playa Hermosa Artificial Reef Project, located just north of Playas del Coco in the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.  The project has been affectionately nicknamed  “Condo-Fish” for the fish habitats, or “condominiums,” that we have constructed here.

So far, things are moving along swimmingly.  This is the first project of it’s kind to be approved by the Costa Rican government.  The fish and aquatic plant life are taking well to their homes and multiple species have already begun laying eggs on the structures.  We see more and more life each time we scuba dive down to it.  Our History section gives a detailed story of how this project started and where it’s headed.   To read more about the drive and energy behind this venture please read the message from the founder.
